Moulayna Johnson Sidi Baba, a graduate student in Software Engineering, played a key role in UC Irvine’s historic 2024 Big West Championship win, which led to their first NCAA Tournament appearance since 1995. A versatile athlete, Sidi Baba transitioned from soccer to basketball and overcame setbacks, including an injury that nearly ended her career. Her 13 points and 9 rebounds helped secure the Big West title. She’s now balancing her academic career with her passion for sports, proving determination and resilience.
